MAJ PM DENICE SANTIAGO É CONDECORADA COM A COMENDA 2 DE JULHO
Os diretores da Força Invicta, TC PM Edmilson Tavares e o Cap PM Edno Santana, estiveram presentes, na manhã desta segunda-feira (12), na solenidade em homenagem à Maj PM Denice Santiago. O evento ocorreu no Plenário da Assembleia Legislativa da Bahia – ALBA e contou com a participação de várias autoridades e representantes da sociedade civil.
Na oportunidade, a Maj Denice Santiago, comandante da Ronda Maria da Penha (RMP), foi agraciada com a Comenda 2 de Julho. “A honraria, é merecida por sua contribuição para o desenvolvimento do Estado da Bahia, sobretudo na defesa da igualdade de gênero, contra o machismo e na luta pelo fim da violência contra as mulheres”, destacou o Deputado Marcelino Galo (PT), incentivador da homenagem.
É importante ressaltar o seu trabalho em defesa das mulheres, ao implantar ações que incentivam o empoderamento, a segurança nos lares e a conscientização contra o feminicídio. Atualmente, a Major Denice é uma das poucas mulheres que ocupam posto de comando na PM baiana, onde apenas 13% são mulheres. É graduada em Psicologia e tem especialização em Segurança Pública, em Gestão Contemporânea pela Qualidade, além de mestrado interdisciplinar em Desenvolvimento e Gestão Social pela Escola de Administração da Universidade Federal da Bahia (UFBA).
Responsável pela criação e implantação na Polícia Militar da Bahia de um núcleo de gênero, criou ainda outros programas voltados à segurança, como o ‘Ronda Maria da Penha’, além de ser a fundadora do Centro Maria Felipa, núcleo da PM direcionado para mulheres, e do programa “Mulheres de Coragem”, que envolve as mulheres assistidas com palestras, oficinas de arte e outras ações. Hoje, a Major comanda a proteção de 629 mulheres ameaçadas por homens na Bahia.
A trajetória da Major PM Denice Santiago demonstra o seu compromisso para além da Corporação, mais que servir e proteger, a oficiala, nossa associada, realiza na prática o poder de transformar a realidade social; és uma agente ativa na luta a favor da corrente do bem. Parabéns!
